NOVEMBER 14-CHILDREN'S DAY CHILDREN'S CHACHAJI Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad on November 14, 1889.He received his early education at home under private tutor.At the age of fifteen, he went to England and after two years at Harrow, joined Cambridge University where he took his Tripos in natural sciences.He was a principle leader of Indian National Movement in the 1930s and 1940s. He served as the country's first prime minister for 16 years. He was imprisoned several times in connection with the salt satyagraha and other movements launched by the congress.He completed his 'Autobiography' in Almora jail on February 14, 1935. Jawaharlal Nehru wrote the book 'The Discovery of India', during his imprisonment at Ahmednagar fort for participating in the Quit India Movement.The book provides a detailed description and analysis of india history from the ancient ages to the British period.
